Our Dental Services
As a family and cosmetic dental office, our goal for every patient is excellent preventative care through our robust dental services. This involves a home dental hygiene routine of brushing twice a day and flossing every day, good nutrition and regular dental checkups. There is a great deal of evidence that suggests good dental health has a positive impact on overall health. Eddleman Dental is pleased to offer a wide range of dental services to accommodate the majority of dental issues that may occur including:
General Dentistry
Comprehensive dental care for the whole family includes routine visits to the dentist for a thorough cleaning and an exam. These important preventative care measures will help keep your oral health in top condition as well as identify any problems early so that the minimally evasive treatment can be offered. General dentistry services also include tooth-colored fillings, Guided Biofilm Therapy with Airflow Max, soft tissue laser treatment, dental sealants for our pediatric patients and root canal therapy. No matter where you are on your oral health journey, Eddleman Dental welcomes you to the family, and we look forward to building a partnership that will improve your dental health.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Have you ever wanted to improve your smile, but just weren’t sure where to start? You have come to the right place! Eddleman Dental provides a variety of cosmetic dental procedures that are sure to take your smile to the next level. Some of our cosmetic dental services offer improved and restored function of your teeth such as crowns, bridges, dental implants and dentures. Not only will your teeth look great, but you will be able to eat and chew foods that you may have avoided due to missing or broken teeth. Dr. Eddleman also offers Invisalign® for patients looking to straighten their smile, as well as porcelain veneers, cosmetic recontouring and teeth whitening.
Pediatric Dental Care
Eddleman Dental is a family and cosmetic dental office dedicated to serving the oral health needs of the whole family. Dr. Eddleman, along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommends children visit the dentist by their first birthday. Starting children off with exceptional oral healthcare can positively impact their dental health throughout life. The Eddleman Dental team makes every effort to create a safe, pleasant and non-frightening experience for our pediatric patients. Eddleman Dental provides comprehensive dental services for pediatric patients including regular cleanings and examinations, in-office fluoride treatments, oral hygiene instruction, dental sealants, tooth-colored fillings and, if necessary, extractions and space maintainers.
Oral Surgery and Extractions
Eddleman Dental offers simple surgical extractions for patients who may need to have a tooth removed due to severe decay, trauma or advanced periodontal disease. Dr. Eddleman takes a conservative approach when considering extractions as removing a tooth can impact the ability to chew as well as change the bite and potentially affect the jaw joint. Together, we can discuss the alternatives for tooth replacement such as a dental implant or a bridge which will help restore the function and balance of the bite. If you have experienced trauma to a tooth or are concerned you may need extractions, Eddleman Dental provides exceptional dental services in a caring and compassionate environment.
TMJ Disorders
The jaw joint, also known as the temporomandibular joint, is a complex system composed of multiple moving parts that work together to perform the function of chewing and speaking. Many patients may experience some jaw pain from time to time when chewing certain foods. After a thorough examination, Dr. Eddleman can diagnose the probable cause of your TMJ issue and offer the appropriate treatment. The majority of TMJ problems can be relieved with occlusal appliance therapy, which involves creating a custom bite guard that can be worn at night to reduce grinding and improve the stability of the joint. If you are experiencing jaw pain due to nighttime grinding or clenching, don’t hesitate to contact Eddleman Dental.
Periodontal Disease Therapy
Gum disease, or periodontal disease, is a progressive disease that affects nearly 70% of adults over the age of 65, according to the CDC. Periodontal disease damages the gums and bone, leading to an increased risk of tooth loss as well as heart disease and other chronic health conditions. While there is no cure for gum disease, the goal of periodontal disease therapy is to slow down and possibly inactivate the disease process. Eddleman Dental offers scaling and root planing as well as periodontal prophylaxis as treatments for patients with periodontal disease. To stabilize this disease, patients are usually seen more frequently for deep cleanings and monitoring to ensure that bone loss is minimized.
Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Sleep Disordered Breathing
One of the most common and detrimental sleep-related breathing disorders is obstructive sleep apnea. Patients with obstructive sleep apnea can experience a myriad of symptoms that make it difficult to perform daily tasks due to a lack of energy and fatigue. Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the soft tissues of the upper airway collapse as the throat muscles relax during sleep causing a narrowed airway opening. The classic symptom of obstructive sleep apnea is snoring. Eddleman Dental offers a removable oral appliance that gently positions the jaw and tongue in a more forward position to open space in the back of the throat. Our team looks forward to helping you proactively address sleep-disordered breathing issues and achieve better sleep health.
